MacOS FTPv0.5.1

FTP / FTPS / SFTP · macOS

Your files. Your server. A clearer view.

MacOS FTP is a native FTP, FTPS and SFTP client for Mac. Transfer folders, compare local and remote files, edit server files in your editor and recover your transfer queue after restarting.

macOS 14+ · Apple Silicon FTP / FTPS / SFTP 17 · Languages Light / Dark

Built around the way you transfer files.

Your Mac on the left. Your server on the right.

Browse both locations together. Drag files and folders from the Mac pane to your FTP server, with recursive transfers and support for empty folders.

You decide what gets replaced.

Compare source and destination before choosing overwrite, resume, rename or skip. Merge folders while handling file conflicts separately. Resume depends on server support and a partial copy of the same file.

Keep every transfer in view.

The queue is saved between launches. Recover interrupted transfers, review conflicts before resuming and retry temporary connection failures. Check for new versions directly from the app.

Make yourself at home.

Choose Light, Dark or System appearance and one of 17 interface languages. Resize the panels, open iCloud Drive, save connections and optionally store passwords in macOS Keychain.

Ready for your Mac.

Download the macOS installer. Close MacOS FTP, open the .pkg and follow the installation steps. It installs the app or updates an existing version while keeping saved connections and preferences.

Early release: the installer is not Developer ID signed or notarized by Apple. macOS may warn or block installation. Only proceed if you trust the source.

Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 14+. SFTP uses a server SHA256 fingerprint supplied by your administrator. Folder comparison uses metadata; remote editing supports files up to 20 MiB. Automatic folder synchronization and Intel builds are not included.

I’m Ciprian Balus, the creator of MacOS FTP. I’m developing a straightforward Mac app for working with FTP servers, with a clear interface and practical file controls. Your feedback helps guide what comes next.

MacOS FTP

Why I built MacOS FTP.

I created MacOS FTP out of a practical need: to transfer files between my Mac and an FTP server without unnecessary hassle. Among the apps I tried, some had bugs that got in my way, others cost more than I could justify for what I needed, and others came with ads. I wanted a simple tool focused on the job.

That is the idea behind MacOS FTP: a clear interface, control over file transfers and useful features without ads in the app. I am making it available for free so it can help others with similar needs. It is still evolving, and bug reports and suggestions help me improve it. Donations are optional and support continued development.
